&lt;p&gt;Sure, if I had nothing better to spend my money on, I&#039;d go for the extra RAM.  Given that you have a 10,000 RPM HDD, you&#039;ll probably notice the improvement.  It &lt;em&gt;can&lt;/em&gt; be worth the extra money.&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;Well It does really push the wait time... I should say you should add that other DDR and get 2Gig worth of mem on your machine. What I do advise after installing it though is to go to expert mode and set your page file usage on the disk to low, making it use the new RAM modules more for a faster machine...&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;If you decide to move to Windows Vista I would recommend it. Word on the street is that it&#039;s a huge memory hog, and 1 gig is about the bare minimum if you want it to run smoothly.&lt;/p&gt;
