Quote: No I haven't, but I'd prefer not to have to buy more software to do these presentations.

But if all you need to do is merge those files together you could use the free trial of Breeze. If that's all you need it for.

Quote: Although you say you recoreded the audio directly in Powerpoint, is that it? Breeze can take a separate audio file and merge it.

Yes, we recorded the audio in Powerpoint directly, but it sounded like crap, so we used SoundForge to do the audio (it sounds good). But I just can't figure out a way to add the audio to the flash presentation.

Quote: What about preloading the sound and flash file before actually displaying an option to start playing?

I'm looking into that right now.

When I worked in Distance ed we did a lot of this sort of thing and had the same problems - even with breeze. Although you say you recoreded the audio directly in Powerpoint, is that it? Breeze can take a separate audio file and merge it.

What I have is a powerpoint that someone at this office made. I need to make it available on the web. To do that, I use a program called PowerCONVERTER to convert all the slides, annimations, effects, etc to flash (because I don't have adobe flash, and I don't know how to use it). The problem is, when you record the narration in powerpoint, it sounds, really, really bad, so when I use that converter to convert it to flash, the audio still sounds really bad. So what I have now is, the narration for the powerpoint that was made in a seperate program (sounds a lot better), and the slideshow in flash. I want to merge them together so they work in unison on the web. So what I'm asking is, is there a way to merge an audio clip into my flash without requiring Flash software (like Flash MX)?

Quote: If you just make the flash movie without narration, you could just make a page where when you click a button, it starts playing the flash movie and a sound file (narrative) at the same time. Just an idea.

I was thinking that too, but how can I make sure that the flash and audio are fully loaded, and start playing at the same time? If there is a way to do that, that would be perfect.

Not too sure if I'm reading correctly. Do you have to use flash and powerpoint together? Why not just use flash?

If you just make the flash movie without narration, you could just make a page where when you click a button, it starts playing the flash movie and a sound file (narrative) at the same time. Just an idea.
