I had the receiver a few inches away behind the lcd like you, and it still would do funny things. Drove me nuts, maybe I just got a bad one, I don't know. Well, I have wireless internet to, maybe that is screwing it up. Well, now that I think of it, the receiver is a little bent, maybe that's part of it? It was bent when I first got it, but it wasn't messing up so I didn't take it back. Things just started to go weird a month ago. Bad batteries? I don't know, and I don't want to deal with it.

If anyone wants it, you can have it. Just pay shipping. Want to void your order Greg?

EDIT: its gregs now

How far away did you have the receiver from the keyboard/mouse? I bought a MX3200 set because it was on sale and had a rebate, and was only $50 for my new system, and except for two things, love it. I keep the receiver right behind the LCD panel, and in the past 3 months haven't experienced any problems with it. Now my logitech mouse (the one I recommended in an earlier post) when the battery was low and I had the receiver in the farthest port on my laptop, would sometimes glitch.

I hate the fact that just about every keyboard set I like has moved the insert key (which I happen to use often)... Also, the touchbar for the zoom level, while it was nice for quickly changing text size in Firefox, was TOOOO sensitive. I mean, even a piece of paper beside the keyboard comes in contact with it, and there it goes.... And to be honest, on some things, using it can mess you up!! So for mine, I cut a piece of gaffers tap to go over that to "disable" it

My wife loves it so much, she wants one for her computer... So this morning I gave in and ordered a refurbished one from CompGeeks.com for like $49.... Should have waited a few more hours for your post, perhaps could have bought yours

I was going to get the MX5000 one for my system and give her the 3200, but went and read reviews on newegg. Man, I could not believe how negative they all were, mainly the fact that since it is bluetooth it looses connections often. That was a big NO for me...

And what is up with most keyboard nowadays do not TILT as much as old ones????????????????? I can't stand that!

Update: I got the mx 3200 and used it for a few months. The battery life was good, and the keyboard setup was good, but occasionally the mouse would jump around, and the keyboard would keep repeating lettttttttttttttters that I typed. It got really annoying even though it only happened a few times a week. I decided to go back to my old wired stuff, and I realized wireless just wasn't worth it. I do miss the fancy buttons on my mouse though. Oh well. Now I got a $75 keyboard sitting in my closet...

i bought this wireless keyboard and mouse set a few months back, but it was giving off so much interference to both the headphones and the speaker system, that they landed in the dumpster two days after their purchase.

Hmm, what to do, what to do... Maybe I'll buy a more expensive set and see how I like it. I can always take it back. I'll probably wait till Christmas though. I'll get a better deal

teammatt3;211286 wrote: According to the reviews at NewEgg people are calling it pretty laggy. I wouldn't mind paying $100 for a good setup, but it better not lag. I'm not a huge gamer, but I don't want it jumping around while I play Day of Defeat . There are only a few reviews for the 3200 but they seem more positive than the 5000.

I'm not even sure how a mouse lags. Maybe it's an issue if the battery charge is low, or the surface is bad, or there's interference or something. There are many variables, but it's not hard to arrange a decent setup. I've never experienced any poor performance with my MX1000 mouse, nor has any other owner I know (a few gamers among them).

I can understand how the keyboard might lag. However, I doubt there are many better wireless products. That's one of the reasons why I still use an old wired unit, I guess.

Just my two cents worth, I have a Logitech MediaPlay mouse, love the fel of it, very precise, and battery lasts a LONG time. when the batteries did finally go, I didn't have anything around, so I used two of my NiMH rechargables that I use for backup in my camera case. Even they are still going strong. I was before a fan of Microsoft mice (felt was the ony thing they did actually make good and dependable), but didn't like the fel of their mouse that came with their wireless keyboard mouse kit. didn't notice any lag in either of those, but sure didn't care for the feel of the keys (personal taste, I'm a fan of good IBM keyboards).

The only thing I would prefer would be to have a bluetooth mouse (and a laptop that had it built in) so I didn't have to use the USB receiver. Also, not sure how much of a difference it really makes, this logitech mouse has an ON/OFF button on the bottom, where the microsoft one didn't. There have been may nights though that i left it on anyhow.

The best mouse ever is the gyroscopic job from Gyration . Mine is almost 4 years old now, rechargeable battery still good, been dropped but still in one piece. The technology is absoultely bombproof and the precision is unbelievable. It really works perfectly on the desk, and is as good in the air (for presentations or goofing about!) .

They have a newer model which looks like what I have plus the gaming bit added on. Cant vouch for the feel of the new one, but if it is anything like the one I have, you wont want to put it down. Very sweet. And for $100 you get a keyboard, which is minimalist if that is your thing. I didnt like that but there was never any interference with a cheapo wireless Logitech naivgator keyboard.

One reviewer:

Quote: Other Thoughts: I took back my MX5000 because it SUCKED - laggy response, freezing SetPoint, an overall unpleasant experience - to get [the 3200] and am very happy so far.
