Aside from Wordpress there are a host of others:

I use pMachine Pro. It's free and still availabe, but is no longer updated since it's been replaced with Expression Engine which you pay for. However EE does have a scaled down free version called Expression Engine Core.

pMachine uses tables, so I'm assuming that EE does too. (Though not totally positive about EECore using tables).

There of course is Blogger, (free), Typepad (pay for), Textpattern (free), And you can find others at OpenSourceCMS.

Actually... wordpress.com is the hosted version. If you want to install it in your own space go to wordpress.org (sorry to be pedantic - I just wanted to save confusion)

Yeah I totally agree with Megan, Wordpress is the way. You can have it as your main website (like myself) or have it as a separate directory/page. It's easy to get to grips with and customise to your needs. Even a complete amateur like me can do it

I would say go get Wordpress (link above). It's one of the most widely used platoforms so there is lots of support and resources available. You will need to have php and mySQL on your hosting accont.

Do you want a script to install or do you want to use a remotely hosted service? What do you have available on your current hosting account? To install something direclty on your site you will need PHP and mySQL installed (probably - some scripts might be available for other platforms but this is the most common configuration). I use Wordpress on my blog and it was very easy to install.
