Well am probably too late now, but I believe the later Media Player downloads codecs for you from MS automatically. I always thought the older player broke because the codec was too new for it (or maybe you just haven't hit that problem yet!)

As ever, the best bet is to grab a machine and try it out, as no-one on here knows for certain. I'm 70% certain that the newer player will just download codecs automatically. Sorry I can't check this for you.

It's a shame you're using any proprietary format to distribute to your company. Doing that will just keep you locked-in to Microsoft products, most people don't care but it's not good for business IMO.

Unless you use the standard WMV codec, encoding it in flash is the best idea.

This is because most people who visit your website will REJECT any invitiation to install any codec or such for security reasons.

Just a thought - would it not be easier to encode it to a flash video instead of altering the software??

If you haven't got the capacity to do it, I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out
