I enjoyed the site!!! I use to be our church webmaster since 2003. Our church hired a Full-Time Youth Pastor and he took over the Website due to the fact that he was able to attend the Staff Meetings.

I have not read the other replies becuase I like have no pre-conceived options - therefore - I enjoyed the site and it's great - reasons:

Moder day and professional.
Clean and bold in color and appearance.
Like the FBC News Box. Very good and useful.
Prayer Request - awesome! Opend in seperate page, set up as a Blog (awesome idea) and bronken down into categories.
Calendar - Color codes help the user find what they are looking for. Are you able to bring the legend to the top ALSO?
The drop down menus are great. The picture icons at the bottom are great. Was thinking of having the pic icons at the top - but that would be too busy - good choice to keep them on there #1 and at the bottom #2.

I enjoyed the site and look forward to seeing some of your other sites.

Thanks for your comments on the new design. I changed it after my last design was more or less beat up by comments -- but that was for the best, because I do think this new look is much more sharp.

Still yet, if there are any more comments, I'd love to hear them.

Just out of curiosity... I looked at the site to see how it's going. It looks like you've changed the front to a tabbed system, which I think is really cool.

Light colored background boxes (ie tan) with white space separating them where the beveled rounded things are now.

I tried to put together an alternate front layout with simple tables instead of images... but i'm not sure how to make it look good. Can anyone give me an idea of what i should do?

This site is a Baptist church in Phoenix, Arizona. I designed and manage it. I used Microsoft FrontPage 2003, PhotoShop and a slew of other programs.

Your boxes are not easy to read. Change the background colors or font or the text in those boxes.
The footer toolbar icons are too big for my taste. The location of toolbar is not standard.

Again, agree with the images as text, pretty much always a no no.

As far as layout, I think you did a fantastic job organizing that much content comprehensivley. Really commendable work there.

If you switched the yellow to an off white, use purple as the content color, and switch from bevels to a box layout, the site could be brought into the now with very, very little effort.

Really, it's a nice layout with a lot of good things going for it, just needs to lose the bevels and switch up the colors a little bit.

yea why you don't change the picture it will be more attractive
