Many of the open source CMS combine with a shopping cart. I am using Joomla! with a modified version of OsCommerce, which also combines wiht Drupal.

It would be easiest for you to find a web hoster who preinstalls both for you

hmm... is cube cart or oscommerce ok ? although it is a shopping cart, but i think can be modified to suit your need.

i don't think phplinkdirectory is a good solution for the above question. Willjoe86 need the kind of solution that can let people purchase membership and can get more information after become the member. phplinkdirectory is likely to be a link directory, that's all.

There is one that you can get for free, it's called PHPLD, but it won't serve your purpose too well. PHPLD is only meant to be a link directory, nothing else. It is really difficult to modify and the templates are really hard to change. You can download a copy at http://www.phplinkdirectory.com. The download link in on the left side navigation under latest version.

If I was in your shoes, I would buy a license to use WSN Links (my favorite cms of all time) and customize it to fit my needs. It has a built in paid membership thing, and it's a directory so you can organize the list of people into categories. I think the license cost is 100 bucks now, it keeps going up . When I got it it was like 40.
