I installed phpBB once, it was a long time ago but I don't remember it being a hassle at all(and I'm not normally good with these things!). I'm sure they've got good documentation. Once you get the database bit figured out everything is good to go. And I imgaine you'd be able to import your current content to the new board.

Another option would be just to put up a page with a frame containing the forum content.

you can change phpbb just as long as you keep the copyright information on every page of the forum.

In your administration panel of phpbb it allows you to change information like forum name, description, etc. so it should be easy enough

Just change the directory from http://yourdomain.com/phpBB to http://yourdomain/whatever you want - update the details in your administration panel, and all it done

Well I just want to know how I would make a forum for my site it does'nt have to be a remote server
I dont know how forums work this is why I ask
I have used phpbb and yabb but want my own name

for e.g. syphonsrelm.co.uk/forum

would I have to host it from my sites root folder or on my own server?
I was as you just suggested going to link to my current forum instead wich is

http://www.getphpbb.com/phpbb/?mforum=syphon

but I would really like my own named forum

and Fantastico is basically installation software included in your cpanel (control Panel) of your website
it just takes out the hastle out of installing scripts and such on your site.

and thank you for the welcome

So you want something that's remotely hosted but uses your own domain name? That's not possible. The best you could do is redirect from your domain to the hosted forum.

Why don't you want to install on your own server? And what is fantastico?

Welcome here, by the way!
