i dont understand the image ( two bars) at the top right corner.
center the navigation that you have placed at top right
the "improved" block looks oddly positioned.
better to reduce the font-size of the text below the copyright notice.

The basic design looks good, what I first noticed is your use of different fonts and the abundance of usage of the times font... try a serif or verdana font, that would greatly improve the look of your site, make it more readable too... I agree with the others that the header needs more work, some kind of logo or banner could make wonders for this site...

Positioning of page elements are not also well organized, it seems all jumbled up together. It looks hectic although you can simplify the whole look and change some bits of positioning for the info...

All in all, you need some work on the site, but this is a good start.

You're right. Your site is a bit visually vacant. A visually compelling header graphic will certainly be more attention-grabbing. To be honest, not many people know how to create great headers. I've occassionally relied on Killercovers.com when I've just been too swamped. In fact they created one for my site http://www.headlinecreatorpro.net as well as the product design. Let me know once you've updated it and I can give you some quick feedback.

Also, you may also want to stay clear of all cap fonts are they are hard to read. :light:
