You could just start gradually adding more emphasis on the movie content and less on the old content and see what happens. See if you get more visitors reading your new content or do they keep with the old.

I changed my site about a year ago from an action figure/comic site to a DVD site. Since then, I've noticed in my logs that most of my referrers are still action figure and comic book sites, and I've maintained a PR4 despite much lower involvement in the site since the switch.

So I would advise you to check your referrers in your logs and see where your visitors are coming from. You might also ask your visitors, like demonhale suggested.

Personally, I'm considering switching my site back now.
