What do you think about the frame around the photo. It keeps FF, from showing a white one. I know one thing, when the site goes web bound, it wont be on that slow server.

Working on coming up with a logo. Also darkened the line breaks, between the buttons. Not any content yet, I just posted the index page to get some feedback. It will be awhile, before the site actually goes up on the web.

I like some of it, the only thing that I see weird is the buttons of the navigation menu. There's isn't much content either to see so I can tell anything else. Also try to get a logo, that gives your site a special touch.

I hate to get into all that compensating for browsers, that css tables has. But take a look again, the borders are gray now. Seems not to be quite as effective in FF as it does in IE though. But I have found out FF, does not exactly work right with Windows ME which I use.

Oh yeah, and it does validate.

hey steve use css instead of the table and you can set a border color that validates, including border type and border thickness, and border edge...

Nuke.

A logo I could take care of, no problem. I also liked the ingraved look of the text on the buttons. That was done with a combination of the amount of drop shadow, and it's color.

The doc-type html 4.01 transitional, does not allow for table border-color. You can do it, but the page wont validate. But not very many pages will, if you make them look like you want to. Only about 1 out of 25 on the internet, will pass a strict validation. I tried it without the borders, but I really didn't like it.

Any way; I will work on all of this for the final version. Right now I am trying to work out the rest of the other features, some of the pages will have.

Oh yes; the gap at the top of the nav buttons. It just seemed to suit me better that way. I've been looking at it, and trying to decide what to do in that space. Or just to close it?.

I understand that this is only a photo website, and that you're not trying to create some elaborate masterpiece, but I feel that every website requires a logo. The Times New Roman font in the header does nothing for me. You could easily sneak a logo to the left of the "Elementary Digital Photography" text in the header. Of course, this is just a personal opinion.

On the other hand, I love your menu. The engraved look is very effective and it makes the text on each button stand out a lot. The menu is the first thing that caught my attention when I first came to your website, while the photo of the garden loaded. However, I must ask, why is there a big gap between the "introduction" button and the top of the cell?

I'd like to see what the table border would look like if you gave it a colour. Maybe a darker grey? It just doesn't fit in with the rest of the layout atm imo, as Busy pointed out.

Simple is good but maybe go a bit more, loose the border on the table and make the link buttoms text (CSS list) which you are able to have all sorts of effects on hover, will also help with search engines as you have some good key words in those links.

As for the font on your top section, a elegant font would work well, something upper class rather than default if you know what I mean. *if you don't, don't worry you wouldn't be the first and may just be safer to ignore this *

I guess it was my fault, I had not up-dated my AV for a week or so. Then ---- "They got me!". I cant even change the pitch, on the buttons. I am dead in the water &%#(*&%^@^#*.

Oh well it's not the first time, and probably wont be the last. I just hate reloading all my programs. It only took me four days last time, to get it all back up. Ok I'm going to rest on it now! catch you later.
