This is well laid out, nice and bold graphics.
You can clearly see your products and naviagtion is smooth.

How about 'Welcome' instead of 'Home' in pink font! Just a thought.

I think the problem is that you are trying to tap into such a huge market dominated by big web sites. After reading your website closer, your web site is infact part of a smaller niche market - personalized gifts. I would market that MUCH more. Big Bold Letters, Bright pictures, etc. Not many places have personalized gifts and the fact that you do, you should take advantage of it.

Over all, nice web site. You should sort out the right side menu a little bit if you want....

You can write it yourself, just think of the people rather than the search engines when you do it. If you write as if to a 5 year old you will find you use a lot of keywords but in a very simple way. Or say all your items are for females, write so as if a male would understand (same as 5 yr old really lol). forget the search engines, think of the people.

I got faith in you

I think in my quest for fixing my site that all of a sudden tanked, I changed my site around (horribly). I didn't notice what I did until you pointed it out (ouch). I am having a hard time writing the text or shall I say the "who is sewgifts.com" since I changed from selling just baby gifts to selling gifts for everyone. The cart system that I am using is very limited in title (40 char), keywords and description (100 char), so I'm really limited in how to get my point across.

Who could I hire to write the text for me? It is clear seeing what I did, that I never was very good at writing. Thanks for the honest feedback, it is what I needed (after I wipe away the tears ...just kidding) I appreciate your honesty. Melanie

First impression - confusing.

All those bold keywords make it real confusing and hard to read, especially when just about every word has a capital, oops nope you missed 'engraved gifts'.

I want to know why I should shop at your site, ok you have products what about who is behind the idea or even where you'd ship to. Nothing in the top half of your site, I see a 'questions' link.
Question one starts to anser my first question but there are those keywords again, grr.
Your questions page says you use pop ups, I wonder if your contents pages do (havent looked there yet as I want to know who I would be buying from).
Bottom of the page answering my international shipping, then you rub it in with "Every order comes complete with free engraving, free personalization, free monogramming and a free gift card". Funny thing is you haven't mention where you are based or even what country you are in, I'd guess USA though.

SE's are one thing but it's the people who have to view/use your site, lighten up on the keyword bashing and just advertise a bit more (like a link in your signature here).

Have you worked out who your biggest consumer is - male/female? by the layout it seems you're targeting women, but you never know.

hand sewn gifts -not in first 10
sewn gifts -not in first 10
sew gifts -2nd but not sure somone would type that one in...

Those are the first three that I tought about... What sort of keywords are you using? And what sort of conversion rate are you having? If you have 10 visitors and 4 of them are buying, that is a good start.
