Whew.....thank you for the great help^_^

My problem was that I didn't know that I had to use Photoshop and what PDS meant.

But I've found a wonderful template that is compatible with Flash and Dreamweaver, so my problem is solved^_^

Thanks for the advice, and maybe I can show it to you guys when I'm done^_^

thanks

I believe that PSD files can only be done in Photoshop. Anyone have Photoshop that would be willing to edit some text?

Wow....I'm such an idiot.

Yes, there are three subfolders in the root folder, with another three subfolders in the html folder.

So there is FONTS folder, HTML folder, and PSD folder.

There are also three subfolders in the HTML folder.

They are css, images, and index...which is the whole template.

I know how to change the text and links in Dreamweaver...but the thing that is tripping me is how to change the WORDS in the template buttons and logo.

What should I do?

I have Gimp 2.2, if you know what that is...but the interface is so complicated that I can't even write a black line through the text.

I also didn't know that PSD meant Photoshop, so thanks.

I have both Gimp, and Corel Paintshop....would Corel do the job?

OR does it HAVE to be Photoshop to edit the buttons and logo?

I also have fireworks....but I don't know how to erase the text...should I go over the button with new color maybe, and then type in text?......or is that impossible to do since it has Photoshop in it? But if it is...can't I import it from Dreamweaver to Fireworks?.....I think I did it...but don't know how to change the text.

Thanks for the advice so far though, and I'll keep tinkering with it^_^

That's probably true, Davey. I've never puchased templates, so I didn't think about that.

Icywind, what Davey's saying is that they should have files included that can be opened in the program that created them. If that's the case, you can just open the files up in that program and delete the text.

If the files that are included are PSD, it's photoshop. If it's PNG, it is likely Fireworks. If it's PSP, it's Paint Shop Pro. I think Paint Shop Pro also uses something like PSPimage. I have Paint Shop Pro on a computer in another location, so I can't check it right now, but I believe that's right.

Let us know what the file extension is, and someone here may be able to help, if all you need is the text on a few buttons changed.

Hopefully they included a blank button in there as well. If not, it may take a bit of work to remove the text. Most likely, you can't actually just delete the text, you have to recreate the part of the button that is under the text and paste it over the text.

Were there not any blank buttons with the template?
