Aha, well that guy was advising you join a mailing list to get your question answered, if you go to:

scroll down to:
Get Involved -> player-dev
then click "Subscribe to this list" on the right

It'll take you to a log in screen, assuming you created an account you should be able to view and post to the mailing list. I haven't got an account so don't know what's available, does this help at all? Can you ask you question in there?

What did the people on the Real Forum say? I have a feeling you just can't do it mate.

Can RealPlayer be manipulated via JavaScript at all? Maybe you could use that to load different URLs into the your player?

That was a shot in the dark by the way.

After a rummage on Google:
Found the URL http://service.real.com/help/library/guides/realone/ScriptingGuide/HTML/realscript.htm

Now I'm sure that with a little scripting you'll be able to do what you want. Bear in mind that none of this (including that URL I just gave you funnily enough) will work in Opera/Linux (don't know about Windows, perhaps someone would be kind enough to test that for you). It doesn't support scripting with plugins (not unreasonable actually).

There are two ways of scripting this:

Use Javascript to write then rewrite your embed statement, remember that document.write is bad mmmkay? (http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2004/xhtml-faq.html#docwrite , http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/WD-WCAG20-SCRIPT-TECHS-20041119/#doc-write)
Use JavaScript to control your player (think the source property is the one you want), use JS to build a random playlist and change the clips out.

The second option would be best as you're not reloading the RealPlayer object every time you change clip, also you'll need the RealPlayer clip to do what's known as a 'callback' when a clip has finished playing. That'll let your little application know it's time to play the next clip.

I'd like to check that and find out some more but Real.com wont let me into their developers area. Hope this points you in the right direction though, have fun!
