 When i made my first site, i wasn't aware of the fact i could vary the level of JPEG compression so i thought cos they always saved really grainy in JPEG, i'd use BMPs for my graphics, which resulted in title graphics weighing in at 500kb apiece

the paths might be set to site root instead or document or something, dunno if it makes any difference anyway but it sometimes happens to me too.

Check the path on the images and see if they are pointing to the right files. Dreamweaver just can't find the files, that's all. I don't know why this would have happened from Fireworks though .

To do this, select the image and look at the path in the properties palette. Is that where the images are stored? Probably not - y9ou'll have to make some changes here.

In general, I don't think that using tools like Fireworks (or ImageReady) to generate HTML is the best way to go about doing things. They don't generate very good code and tend to encourage image-intensive designs (not a good idea!).
