Didn't free speech allow political freedom of speech too? I'm approaching it as a Brit. I see why they are doing it, I just think they are pretty undemoratic. Just my opinion!

Totally agree, We as designers / coders are skilled workers. The internet is a maturing and stable industry. If they want to pay for minium wage work.. thats what they'll get.

I agree with Megan. You want to charge on an hourly basis. The minimum wage in Washington is $7.35 (highest in the nation), and you deserve a lot more than a state's minimum wage. Your skills are worth a lot more than you think. Never undersell yourself. The more experience you have the higher you charge. Also, if you work fast, tell them that, and charge more per hour.

I would charge an hourly rate for this (you don't want the site owner taking advantage of your time by charging a monthly flat fee for an unlimited amount of work). This is most fair to both parties because they only pay for the work they need done and you get paid for all of the work you do. What to charge for an hourly rate for something like this is completely up to you. How much is your time worth? This is pretty basic work so you don't want to charge too much, but make sure you are compensated adequately.

Due to the US's (stupid) Anti-trust laws, it is not really legal to give costings advice on a forum like this.

What I would say to add up how much work it will be and then charge a certain amount. Charge enough to undercut the top end of the local market but don't be as cheap as to drive yourself out of the market. Just my £0.02
