Could you amagin booting your OS off some server via the internet? If you do that then your computer wont need to be very big. Of corse this wont happen till internet becomes for relayable. Maybe even the government might try and organise it? And text based scripting will still be around

Busy wrote: flash can't be printed,
flash needs to be updated often and to view certain versions ...

Flash is last years animated gif - kids love it

Flash is also difficult and time consuming to develop. People who have never developed a flash site don't seem to understand this. It's a lot of work. There is a lot of power in building in server side scripting but that takes a lot of specialized skills that very few people have.

IMO, flash just doesn't make sense for complete websites. That's not what it's for. I strongly believe in using the right tool for the job when it comes to any sort of development. Flash was not built for full site development - HTML/XML was. I think where flash makes the most sense is for smaller applications such as product tours or learning objects. I also think that if Flash was the future of web development it would have happened by now. Flash has been around for a long time and it's not any more popular now than it was 5 years ago. Possibly less popular!

I think the future lies more in XML and AJAX and Web 2.0. Bringing software onto the web and off of the desktop. Google developing an OS would be insteresting but I really can't see them venturing off the web platform anytime soon. That's more their thing. Although I've heard the rumours bout the google OS too so who knows. MS, on the other hand, is going to be in trouble if they don't recognize the power of Web 2.0 as well as open source applications.

Actually, anything you can do in flash can be done in a codeing language. Its just easier in flash. I understand this consept pirfectly. I'm making things go in circles in JavaScript while everyone else goes to flash. This is really a bad sample to use this with but usually the coded effects run better than the visually designed effects. Just that no one understands quality any more. You should see the things Java can do...

On another flash related subject. Flash is making servers?

Flash is amazing in the right hands, if you want to make a big impact then it's the only way to go. I have also seen many Flash applications which are very good, and have unique features which you just can't do with any other coding language.

LMFAO!!!

Flash is complied, thus not a versatile format. You need a special encoder/decoder to use it. It will never take over.

Flash will be the future

I have a feeling that flash sites will be the future of the web. You can make your websites so much more interactive using flash, that im sure it will overtake convensional techniques.

Why do you say that flash navigation is pointless?

You can make it look good, cant argue with that.

Microsoft will be around for awhile. They don't have any room for growth in the PC area but some room in servers. They are also like a lot of companies that diversify into other areas.

Haven't heard anything about flash spiders but what is the point.

Is Microsoft on the way out

So do you think that microsoft are on the way out?

Could it happen sooner than we think?

But, if one giant is replaced with another, who will be the next biggest competitor?

Off the subject a bit, but i heard that there has been a development in searcdh engine spiders. Is there such thing as a flash spider (as in macromedia flash) a spider that will scan a flash site?

If so, how the hell does it work?
