Well the only problem this leaves is that Flash will auto-install on IE... Well you could just say: "To view this guff you need Flash, download it at: www.whatever.com"

I don't really view this as a big problem owing to the fact that no essential part of an internet site should be built in Flash anyway, if it is you can always use an HTML index page that says something similar to the above, or asks the user whether they can see a sample movie.

Anyway, I don't see anyone coming up with any better suggestions

I searched jeeves, I read that, but then even the ALA solution is not entirely the real solution, you need to edit the flash with it, ya know, even inserting the img tag wouldnt entirely work everytime...

I read through several resources before including ALA (which uses the object only method to validate) and vibs the object with embed method is what im always using but it seems even in html4.01 tran, it still wouldnt validate... try it out for your self...

I think there was something on ALA awhile back about getting flash to validate so check there. I remember reading about that somewhere but I'm not 100% sure where I saw it.
