Thank you dragonsjaw.
My first priority is email publishing though.
Anyone has any successful experience with email publishing -pix and text through any software?

Regards

This might not to relevent (not available with Fantastico), but movabletype.org (MT) still offers a free version and for a small sum someone from there will install for you if that is a problem.
Not sure about the email publishing thing, but the interface for MT is easy and there are a ton of MT photoblog templates/code out there too.
And just posting a photo with your blog writing is no problem at all, even on a slow dial up connection.
And some hosts have bought a licence and maybe your host can set it up for you.
I have an older version of MT still running fine, and like Roo, I hope to transfer my other sites (someday) over to pmachine pro.

HTH

I was so excited to try, but it is so slow, I could upload more pictures along with text through blogger than this heavy program.

So it's not like an email publishing.

Pity

Thank you for the news anyway.
Appreciate it

Thank You Megan. Sorry about the delay.

I first installed the wordpress in the server and try to learn through their forums on how to import the content from blogger.com and noticed so many frustrated souls in the process and all ask some help and steps sound like not foolproof, I was in a hurry to be live ASAP and ftp'd my posts from my blogger.com after uninstalling the wordpress. They are at least live now under the paid host and I'll continue to ftp post through my blogger.com until I get some foolproof steps for beginners for myself to import them as well as finding a better template or import my current one into wordpress.

I just email my posts through blogger.
Not being able to attach images in the email to post though.

Maybe the new softwares will figure that in the future to make it simpler.
Otherwise maintenance of the site becomes a long task when the images need to be uploaded seperately.

All the best

Megan wrote: I've only used images in my blog a few times and I remember having some problems with the upload area. I ended up uploading the images by ftp and referencing them by a regular image tag.

I don’t like php for the same reason I hate macromedia products. It looks and feels like it was built for a 5 year old. It's like the AOL users version of web development.
ASP isn’t the only alternative. You can write a Java based language. If java is supposed to be so superior why doesn’t anyone use that? I can just see it now.... Someone buys a blog script then realizes its in java and they have no clue how to set it up.

Quote: ...and I've not yet visted a site that works correctly with it.

Are you talking about purchased scripts? I have never seen a professional web site that uses php.

ASP is a worthy language, just a little more difficult in my opinion. I think it's not as popular just because it has to do with Microsoft. As far as a blog, try pLog. I think it might be what you are looking for. And if you ever wanted to let other people blog on your site, you could.

Yup...it's the best thing since sliced bread.

ASP is Micro$haft's answer to backend programming...and I've not yet visted a site that works correctly with it. (I'm sure it works just fine in thier browser, but the only time I launch that beast is for testing sites I'm developing)

Link for Roo's post... http://www.pmachine.com/pm/feature_grid/

Seriously... does everything you guys do have to be in php? The only advantage php has over my asp(.net) script is that mine needs extra components (free for personal use). At least till 2.0 framework comes out. (before or with vista)
