Some of your copy is incorrect

Quote: In my opinion, it isn't worth paying $299 to get into directory -- you can get into Yahoo! for free through Google, since it is powered by Google.

Yahoo isn't powered by Google. And hasn't for years.

I thought the site looked good except I hated the Google ads.

Great content but needs branched structure. Too many links in a row are hard to filter though.

Give some more broad categories then drop down to sub topics.

Yes, I think it's doing well at fulfilling the objective the author intended. Trouble is that it fooled us for zero seconds, is anyone really going to be taken in?

Well, yeah, if we're grading his ability to confuse and deceive users, then yes, the ad placement is a strength.

Okay , Overall rating is great, but there were some minor holes you need to fix in.

1) © Copyright, 1999-2005 ClickHero.com. All Rights Reserved. - should be more in the centre - looks more prof.

2) one of your right menu - 'making key phrases' - the text content inside should b
paragraphed better and aligned like the other menu contents are organized. more narrow instead of too wide , looks amateur on that one.

Strength

1) google ads that appears to be like a menu
2) well developed diagrams for the SEO structure on one of the menu -looks professional

Generally, it is all good, just need some touch ups in my opininon.

Gluck!

Your banner is subtle while the body--with that huge graphic--comes on too strong. My eyes instantly skip over everything above the photo, leaving me with no quick sense of what your site is about.

The links on the right are probably disposable. Even with a good knowledge of how search engines work, I don't know what many of these links mean. Someone interested in your services will have no clue. They'll be scared off. I would get rid of this body of text and move the AdSense ads into their place. Ads are much better when they're alongside the central focus instead of above it.

The main body of text is too long, and the type is too small. This content would be better suited on another page in your site, e.g. "SEO In Brief." You want to draw people in to your site's other pages by making your home page simple. The layout you have now will scare them off.

robfenn wrote:
I hate those bloody Google Ads. It might make you a few quid, but is it really worth it when it spoils the design and annoys people? That Google Ads menu shouldn't be where a conventional menu is. That really isn't clever.

Actually, that is quite clever, I damn near clicked on one of those thinking it was a menu item. I'm sure that was done intentionally and whilst being clever in the short-term people can tell that this has been done to them, the old saying: "Once bitten, twice shy" comes to mind. Trying to trick people into doing something makes me doubt your motives and the purpose of the site.

This has blatantly been setup as a speedy moneyspinner, a shame as you could do something with it (even though you're penetrating a saturated market).

The colour scheme is easy to look at, as long as you don't look at the content or try to read anything. This neatly falls-in with the philosophy of the site as I'm sure the only thing you want to actually read that text is the Google spider

That huge menu is an eyesore, however I guess you have to make it like that so all your pages are given the same PR?

The random stock photo doesn't do the site any favours either, this is a pet hate of mine: I can smell a stock photo at 50 paces!

Overall it looks kind of cute, lacks horrendously in terms of functionality/usability but will no doubt do quite well for advertising revenue when you get a few reciprocal links going and the PR rises.

The navigation on your site is combersome and that list you use as the main navigation is daunting to say the least. I think that you need to make some menu groupings and have your menu displayed in a tree structure. No matter what you decide you gotta change that, they are almost in alphabetical order, but the problem with multiple words in each menu item is you still may not find what you are looking for.

As the others said, those ads need to go or at the very least they need to placed in a spot less offensive to the viewer. All your ads are in prime spots for important content, thus (as said before) they look like menus ... very confusing.

I also think that you need to do something a bit more interesting with your logo. A bit bigger a least, make it eye catching.

Since the main purpose of you site is to display content I would get a color scheme that makes it ez'er to read for long periods of time. That gray on light blue is pretty close on the color wheel, I think you need something a bit more contrasting so your readers don't get a head ache ... however those ads are ez to read.

Looks ok... But the page is a little long, also the google Ads misleads visitors into thinking you have a menu there... Also the feel of the site is like a blog with too much archived texts... Also make sure that since your offereing SEO then you have a high PR ranking too... Or build a high PR in a shorter amount of time...
