Looks good works well...how about archiving more like at least all of the stuff from 2004 and perhaps half of the 2005 stuff on there

Along the lines of what the above viewers said...

Add another colour and make the logo bar more interesting. For quick fixes I would colour in the word "source" with an accent colour that you could use for links. With blue your golden orange/tan works well. And why not make the logo image the full 770px wide? This way you can experiment with patterns in the background to make it pop! It doesn't have to be fancy, but it looks very plain right now. On the site I'm working on (http://www.usc.uwo.ca/fomsc/indextrue.html) the header is an example of what I'm talking about. Actually, I don't like my logo, but I like my background! Just suggestions - good work, and keep us posted!

Very clean and well thought out.

My only suggestion is dong something dfferent with the banner. It has the logo on the far left, but stretches across the screen blank.

Well it looks like a generic BLOG, that shouldnt be the case, Megans site is based on a blog engine but it looks more like a WEB SITE than a blog (looks cool too)... You should get funky with your site, You could do better with the color scheme, Header Logo, and Menus...
Yes Blogs are easily updatable, but that shouldnt be the reason to be lazy and use the default settings...

Hi, red_ghost. Sorry it took me so long to release & review your site! I have the notification emails sent to my work email address so I'm a little slower on the wekeends

I took me a little while to figure out what this site is about. Seems like a personal site of sorts - news items and such that appeal to you. The "stuff that matters" tagline is not helpful there at all. If you're going to have a tagline it should be more descriptive.

The overal layout looks okay. Everything is in its place and looks reasonably nice. It is rather boring though - shades of blue colour scheme, small uninteresting logo, plain navigation area... Since this is a personal site, and you have no limits, you could do some interesting things with the colours and layout. Your design should have some character. People should look at it and immediately connect the visual look and feel with your brand. You say in your FAQ that your audience is teens - this is another reason why you should go all out with the layout. Young people are probably more receptive to interesting and fun design ideas.

And hey, why go with a boring layout when you could do something fun?

Good idea to keep teens in touch with the news!
