It also takes Google a few days to settle in. I have had to deal with them before, and it seems they are pretty well on track ( well most of the time ).

Doubtful, Google don't pretend their product is foolproof, perhaps it just couldn't find any ads to display for the rest of the words on the page so picked-up on the lowest common denominator.

Agreed with Chris - do not deliberately mess around with Adsense! Probably the best you can do is point this shortcoming out to Google and see what they say (if anything).

Here is an example of what is happening: my site is a TV fan site where the main actress appeared on the TV show "Password" back in the 60's, so there was a discussion about her appearances there on the forum (along with hundreds and hundreds of other discussions about her and her TV shows). Google glommed onto that ONE WORD, PASSWORD, so now all the ads that come up on this page are "Password protect - most advanced error remover", "Password Robots - password protect areas of your web site..."" "Free Roxio Easy media", "Free Software". Now, NONE of these ads will be of interest to my classic TV viewers - whereas on my main page, I get usually 50% directly related to my subject matter - even though all the same words are used in the forum and on the main page (though the forum has a lot more words..) Is there anything that can be done about this?

You could of course do this.
Just as long as;
1/ You are prepared to have your adsense account closed and any unpaid funds frozen.
2/ You would be ok with the potential for having your site banned from Google

The idea of adsense is that it is relevant to the page it appears on NOT what you think it should be relevant to. You seem to have the wrong idea of content. What do you believe it is, if it isn't the text on the page?
