One good way is to go around, and look at several kinds of web-sites. Right click on the screen, and choose view source; see how others have done it. That's exactly what I did at first. Go to "html goodies" this site starts at the very basics, and teaches you what is going on. It doesn't take long to learn how to build a simple site, and with perseverance not long to go higher.

I could build the site you are talking about with just very simple code, and tables, and it would look just like it.

I would be looking to do better than THAT site. It's full of mistakes, and errors. He's combined tables, and CSS, and done a bad job at that. It would be better to use one, or the other alone.

Pre-built templates are really not the way to go. Frames are not really the way to go. I especially do not like sites, with scrolling center frames. It restricts the viewing area to much.

Jump around on the web, and read a few HTML tutorials and keep trying until you get it. How do you think the rest of us did it, it's not a natural talent. If you learn what tags make a simple page first, it's just like building a wall brick, on brick. I wouldn`t throw in the towel, and give up.

like i said its only a first draft im not looking for a finished item. just a basic layout and to make sure everything works right.
as for the search engins it was somthing that my web hosting was advertising. i thought it sounded like a good idea. but hey ho what do i know.

what are crawlers ????

You'll be wasting your money. There aren't 400 search engines, there aren't even 40. All you'll end up with is a lighter wallet and spam emails for the rest of your life on the internet.

Forget rankings totally for that site until it has been designed to be search engine friendly. The way the frames are set up makes it totally invisible to crawlers.

Here an idea of how it would look Poodle Predictor. Not very interesting really.

You need some serious SEO so maybe start here
Then move on to copywriting, word research, link building, etc etc.
