I'm finding it slow loading on dial up, not as bad as some but am waiting for pages to load.
ALWAYS use width and height tags, especially on the gallery page, on dialup that page jumps around all over the place while loading. your image (gallery_frame_spacer1.jpg) is not displaying either (broken image).

I disagree with moving the nav to the top, at 800x600 the pages aren't very long and you view the whole page anyway. moving it to the top will make the bottom look empty, while making it top heavy.
At first I didn't like the woodgrain, very dark and a little dated on the text pages but that dated look works well with the before/after shots in the gallery, if anything, just make the domain name bigger in the top section.

Some pages you just miss getting the whole line of text in, example the disclaimer page, the 'only!' is on the next line (centered), even at 800x600 there is ample room to fit the extra word on the same line with still keeping inside the top section.

nice work btw

All that needs to be worked at on your page had been commented and i agree with megan and steve... Anyways the idea of photo retouching is not new so maybe you should explain whats so special about your service upfront... Its also nice to have drastic retouching samples like old photographs, black & white photos to color, etc... Here locally at our area, every mall we hve has a photo retouching, fixing, enlargement and everything you may want to do with your picture. So its best to have something different...

Actually Chris,

I removed that in the reworked version which isn't online yet.

I have to admit I was (and still am) extremely pi... about you disappearing without a word after I deleted my old webpage and had to finish up which took me several days to code it At least I had expected something like a short note telling me you won't/can't finish...

But oh well, live goes on

Splash pages, you gotta love em, They work miracles for your site. I have a program that is essentially the equivalent of a webbot. That is when I send it to your site; it gives me the same info the search engine looks for.

I see no keywords, no description, no title, other than "home". Now just how is a body to find your website?.

It's just so people know that you're not some newbie, that's all. Sorry I keep asking, I just forget . There's a function to merge users, I can do that pretty quick if I can find your old username.

About stuffing it all along the top.. that's a pretty common layout and I don't normally see a problem with it. You do have enough room to use a side navbar if you wanted to. Another thing to think about is what happens to the gallery page when you have more photos? Are you always going to force it to be that height or will it expand? Trying to force a height can be very restrictive when the site starts growing. Moving the navbar will allow for more freedom that way.

Megan, how come every time I post here you ask about my post-count Actually I don't care about it, does it make such a difference?

BTW, don't wanna be picky, but I was Administrator and Programmer of TWF back in JPs days

I think I see your point in the "add some logo or whatever to get rid of the being lost" feeling. But I kind of dislike the idea of moving the navbar back on top, this would somehow stuff it all on top, logo or identifier, then the navbar, then the content. Hm, what do you think?

Well like Megan said somthing at the top is needed and how about an automatic redirect from the splash screen...or a text link that indicated that you must click the pic to continue. Other that that I think it looks good.

Hey, Patrick! What the heck happened to your post count? Did you have a different username before? I might be able to merge them somehow, or at least correct the post count. For all the people who don't know Patrick, he used to be a mod here way back in the day.

Not a bad set up here. I think there ar ea few things that need work though. I'm not all that keen on the woodgrain look. It's sort of cheesy and outdated looking. I do like the crest thing though, although I'm thinking it might be a better idea to show off the product on the splash page here. Maybe a combination of a sample photo and the crest would be good, maybe overlaping somehow. The first photo with the dark haired model would be a good choice I think.

In the body of the site, there is no logo or header of any kind. That's a big problem, IMO. Every site needs something to ground the site and give it a sense of identity at the top. I do like the way the photos have been set up, and your work is very good.

The navigation along the bottom is a nice idea, but the problem is that it's not visible at lower screen resolutions. With your target audience it might be a good idea to consider moving that back to the top so everyone can see it.
