Not about the fonts, but regarding the problem of displaying an example graphic: Try http://imageshack.us/ You can upload an image and hotlink it (with thumbnail) and you don't even need to register with them.

I tried many font sites (takes days going through them all) and couldn't find the exact font, well maybe did but missed it.
There was one font close, think it was assasian or something and as you suggested Roo, modified a few letters. It's not perfect but should do for now, one day I hope to find that font

Thanks all

That font looks like Basic Sans Heavy or Impact. Is there any way you could take one of those and manipulate some charecters so that they'd do what you want them to?

Ahh tracing, something to pass the time away with... I use it so much, I have a template in corel draw with layers set up for doing it. Have you ever become so anal on getting a curve to match the bitmap, then realize, wait a minute, i'm zoomed in like 1200%, who the heck is going to notice?

I prefer to do all my maps this way. Preferable, traced directly over arial/satelite photos. (the county I am in had arial photos of the entire county done a few years ago, great quality!)

Anyhow back to the topic of fonts. I tried that identafont site, and just wanted to suggest, have as many letters/numbers possible before using. LOL I tried it, answering what I could off of this image: http://wtvgames.com/akronohio.gif and the end result, well lol was nothing like the image, and seemed to go against some of the questions I answered. LOL.

Now the What The Font site, EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bingo! We have a winner! LOL

 -Greg

PS. I'll leave that image on my server, feel free to use it at the what the font site to see how it works.

Double PS.. Oh man, I'm still cracking up.... After What The Font found a font for me, I came across the full character set. (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/bitstream/belwe/condensed/charmap.html) Since I now had a display of all characters, I went back to the identifont site, answering all the questions. GO TRY THIS. Don't let your graphic business depend on it picking fonts for you! hahahahaahahaha

Hey, it's already helped me, Goob. On one site I'm working on, I'd resorted to vector-tracing their logo's font, and wasn't really happy with the result. Now it looks great!
