My friend fritz called me up one morning coz he has a problem with his mouse and he wants help figuring the problem out. I went to their house and as I arrived he told me that his mouse went intirely non functional, So I asked what happened, and he said it just went dead, so I said "That explains why i smell something stinky when I entered your room" , "Youre mice died, im very sorry, lets get a shovel and bury that poor thing". Until now fritz never called me again to help him fix a mouse.

:explode:

LOL, perhaps we should setup a "Care for Mice" institution, the RSPCA can confiscate animals that are mistreated and ban people from owning pets. Perhaps the same action needs to be taken with people who mistreat their mice? I know I'll never bash my mouse in frustration again!

On the subject of optical mice... if you are going to use a mousepad make sure it doesn't have any red or dark oranges on it as it can screw up the tracking on the mouse and make it jerky over the red bits.

ok ... first of all if your going to use an optical mouse dump the mousepad and run it on your desk. or a VERY smooth hard topped mouse pad. and i have 4 types of mouse type input devices (optical, trackball, glidepoint, and regular ball mouse) and I prefer the regular mouse over all. Probably just what i am used to, but the biggest downfall with optical is that the bottom surface can become scratched and that cannot be repaired. The regular mouse just needs a good cleaning occasionally.

demonhale wrote:

optical is good but when editing some graphics other than the slate i like the trackball coz i feel the groove on the pad which makes me more responsive to what im editing...

I use trackballs on all my computers. They have several advantages. One is that it is more precise movements. Another is that it helps prevent carpal tunnel. Still another is that most people hate them and won't use your computer because of it.
