use PHP, make seprate pages one with the menu and the others with the content and use the Include function ..i believe you can even do this with html
http://us2.php.net/manual/en/function.include.php <----check it

And I think that a whole host of reasons have just been provided as to why opening in a new window is a good solution. When the user has finished with the new window yours is still open, you haven't lost the visitor and you are not ripping off someone elses band width.

Arrggg, I had a site trap on of my pages in thier frames. Boy did it p** me off! I used a javascript so that when someone clicked the link on that site, my page popped out of the frames and open alone like it was meant to.

Don't do it, it's RUDE!

I have to agree with Andy on it being annoying. I've never heard about it being a breach of copyright, but I know it's annoying.

If you must do it, at least put the option on there to remove the menu and view the page without it.

Don't do it. It's annoying as hell when websites open other sites within their frameset as it gives you a reduced viewing area. Plus like openmind said, it can be seen as a breach of copyright and people HAVE been sued for this in the past.

syawilim wrote: Why not have the other sites open in a new window?

Because then his menu wouldn't be at the top.

cbc58 - Check the terms of the site you are going to frame and/or ask permission first as so some sites could look on it as a breach of copyright...

just use frames and put your menu in the top frame. Like greg said some sites dont let you do this but I checked this one and it lets you use frames

Hi-

My menu is very basic - has a graphic and some tabs to click on.

One of the sites I want to jump to is electronicappraiser.com. So the goal is to have my menu bar at the top of thier site, so when they are done there they can return to my site.

Is this the info you need? Thanks for your help.
