I just don't see the spammers purpose. I personally have NEVER purchased anything, visited, or participated in anything I received via spam. I just delete, delete , delete.

I would believe that their conversion cannot ever be more than 1%. But I guess 1% of 1 million emails is 10k which is not bad at all.

I HATE SPAMMERS!

I'd like to piggy back on this topic. For years I've used a scramling script from http://www.z-host.com/scripts/iscramble. I always thought it worked fine and maybe you guys can tell me otherwise, but I just checked the source code in Firefox and FF reveals all the scrambled text. What's up with that?

answer yes because you have told the browser what to display, only way it wouldn't display is if javascript was turned off - which is very common to avoid pop ups/unders/sliders

I had one of my email addresses on a comic book/action figure collecting site for somewhere between 4-6 years. I get hundreds of spam emails a day. I can tell you from experience that a server-side script to handle contact is the way to go.

Pesonaly, I put my e-mail address on most of my work for the past 2 years. I get very little spam with no blocker installed.

Sorry to have to tell you this, most email bots read javascript, a better way is to scrabble the letters using unicode, @ = & #64;(no space between & and #) etc but end result is still harvestable
Best way is to use a server side form - no email addresses involved
