I think I will stick to the tutorial's explanation

One other thing - it suggests to drag a photo on to make a background in the tutorial, but when i drag a photo on it seems to hide at the back and I can't see it. I've tried fiddling with layers but i can't seem to bring it to the front. Can anyone help on this issue?

I've not used Imageready but quick tutorial is. Chop photo into desired pieces, save, now there will be lots of photo peices to save and upload to images file, and there will be some code to paste into your HTML. Read the code and you'll see what it's doing.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, but here's one tutorial:

http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/super%20tutorial%202/website%204.htm

I just searched Google for ' "image ready" slice tutorial '. Then I ignored the sites where you had to pay for tutorials. I'm sure there are probably better ones out there; This was the first one that looked like it might be close to what you're looking for

Andy's absolutely right. It's different for ever program, which would make it difficult to give a tutorial.

What graphics program are you using? Perhaps someone else is using the same program as you and could help you out more. That, or we can at least point you towards some online tutorials.

We can't really give you a whole tutorial. Have you considered perhaps reading the documentation?
