I like the overall layout. I'm assuming it's a template? Just a few suggestions:

Make the content text black. It'd be easier to read, although I'm not sure if that's a big deal considering your target audience is students.

Make the girl on the right younger. Make her less professional. Make her a student.

Straighten out the / in hot / not. Not a big deal, but it bugs me.

Scheme the login boxes so they go with the rest of the site.

Nice and clean. Very professional looking. However, the header graphic seemed unnecessarily tall to me. If it were a bit shorter, I could have fit the entire page's content in my browser window without having to scroll down. (I'm using 1024x768.) That can be a pretty big deal.

very proffesional, and clean site..easily read and navigated....however, it seemed very very slow to me
