Ah, okay, that helps a lot to know that this is a class project and not a real site.

I think you need to work a lot on your graphics. The logo and navigation area need a lot of help. Use some CSS to change the look of those links. For the logo, try a different font, first of all, I also think that the arrangement of the words and the red cross are not working. It might be better to do HealthSite+ instead, maybe with Health in red and Site in a more neutral colour. Use a big solid sans serif font.

Speaking of sans serif, the whole design would look a lot better in sans rather than TNR.

Check your spelling on your copy - there's a mistake in the second paragraph (nvironment). Normally I would advise to have this re-written but I think for your purposes it'll be okay.

One thing that really bothers me about this is the headings as underlined links. I think it would be better to leave them as plain headings and then use a (read more...) link to direct users to more information.

It's and Enlish/Welsh certificate of education. Basically it is a secondary school qualification here in the UK (although it does not apply to Scotland, we have our own education system distinct from the rest of the UK).

I went looking thought your source code and didn't see any unusual fonts, In fact in the heading, the styles you use doesn't define what font type to use, jsut the default, which to me is what makes it stand out like a sore thumb.

Also notice on the screen shot how for me the logo background didn't match and in FF is a little to high.

Well, it's certainly clean, not too much fuss over graphical detail, but none the less some for good measure.

And as for the validation, one error on html that needs fixing, however that is only one, which if you can limit to zero, then you won't have nag's like me going on about your code once you've ventured further.

Oh and it also helps the firefox users......lol.

This site is obviously going to be informative, and useful to some, so my advice to you is to keep the layout clean, as it is now.....

Of course, yeah, I completely forgot to do that. I was just doing the basic start-page so I could see what my design would look like. Also, I'll be exporting them to gifs to save loading time.

Hmmm, that's odd about the header. It works perfectly on my PC, but I havn't cross browser checked it yet; I probably forgot to get rid of the old grey in one of the cells of the table.

That's odd. Is your computer limited font-wise? I'd be interested to see what happens, because it looks good one my PC. As I said, I havn't checked it across different browsers/screen resolutions etc... that was one of the reasons I put it up for critique.

Do not use HTML to resize your images, get image software and resize them with that.

The body of the page looks good, however the header needs work. The logo image has a different shade of grey than the rest of the header background, plus it is taller, so there is a small jag along the bottom of the grey area. Also the fonts/layout in the header makes me think I came to a page where the CSS failed to load.

Good start overall though!
