It's... awful...

Time to put my constructive crticism cap on.

The logo violates the webmaster's color rule - do not put red on blue or blue on red. Combine that with the unreadable font, and background pattern I can't make sense of... sorry but that just needs to be replaced.

The layout itself is okay. The top-down approach is nice an clean - the menu links on the right, needs a margin or a few spaces after the last link. Also the bright red would look better as a darker red.

Someone else mentioend times new roman - yes very few sites can use that font and get away with it. Your site would look better with comic sans given the content.

Your forums color scheme is equally distrubing, but combined with the other colors of the site, it actually blends well in a strange way - perhaps the feeling you're trying to portray through the use of pastels...

It's xhtml 1.1 already mate (hence the graphics at the bottom, should have been able to see that on the home page without scrolling much.

Unfortunately not every one shares this view with you, although each to their own.

My suggestion is to forget content, open Photoshop (or whatever you prefer) and concentrate on making a design! Although I'm not suggesting you use Photoshop to do the code for you, just the design

I am totally a noob when it comes to paint packages, and failed miserably at art while at high school......enough said eh!

mattdes
Sorry, there was a typo with the code (which IE chose to ignore), I have corrected it now, please have another look.

busy
Didn't see the need for a 'top' link, why cause more clutter when every one has a 'home' key...that's my thougts on it.

As for the colours on the forum, well as I mentioned before, i'm no artist, at the moment I am experimenting by trial and error, no real constructive output there so far though.....(from the trial and error process that is, not this thread )

Nothing cool about the design... and the times new roman sucks big time on websites... use Arial, verdana or other 'straight' font

You've got no layout at all, sorry ...
Don't mix blue and red, they look awful together most of the time.
Don't use Times New Roman
Try to make a BETTER header .. and yes, a layout

It seems like a clean design, however I would recommend making the two header images blend into one, combine the two logos and use an image map to manage the links. Also I found your logo at the top left hard to read

Indeed, it lacks flow and doesn't seem to have any structure. You're coding is to a reasonable standard, perhaps you could try xhtml/css - that would be an advantage to your code and make creating a structure easier.

The top section looks like it is four sections, the title, banner, sub title and links are all different style to the actual content. There is just no flow, no "gotcha ya now stay" feeling.
If you want a community feel you may need to add some more images around the place

There is a BIG horziontal scroll bar at 800x600, looks like its the mozilla banner and your logo that are causing it, but some pages (like http://www.fluffi.net/funnies.php?page=asda) would cause a horz scroll anyway as the nav ends just on 'funnies' at 800x600

Some of the pages are long, although you mention the navigation at the botom of the main page (saying its up top) a little 'top' link or better yet another set of link at the bottom would be real helpful

[edit] Wooooh, just saw the forum, blue, pink, green and yellow? what were you thinking ;)[/edit]

The colors of the header don't really seem to go with the colors of the site itself, though. Also, that's an awful lot of text on the front page. I would throw in an image or two to spice it up a bit.

Personally I like my header to strike out, although I accept your point, it may be a wee bit too much striking. As for the front page, well I would have pictures, if only I could find some striking enough to put there....lol

Fair point well made, cheers!

timjpriebe wrote:

Finally, just a technical issue. In Firefox, the bottom image on the Fluffette page hangs down past the white background/box.

I believe (although I can't test it as I am at work whihc only allow IE) it is because I haven't cleared the float's used on the images. I believe that I have fixed it, won't know till i'm back at home using firefox.......thanks for pointing that out!

Cheers

First off, very clean design. I like that. Also, the header takes up minimal space, while the name of the site is steal easy to read.

The colors of the header don't really seem to go with the colors of the site itself, though. Also, that's an awful lot of text on the front page. I would throw in an image or two to spice it up a bit.

The navigation... Although it's kinda neat that you used variations on your last name, it made figuring out which section was what more or less guesswork. Personally, I would make it more obvious than Fluffette and Fluffee.

Finally, just a technical issue. In Firefox, the bottom image on the Fluffette page hangs down past the white background/box.
