From experience people tend to ignore ads in the top right hand corner... in fact... people tend to ignore EVERYTHING in the top right hand corner, simply because they're expecting an advert to be there!

I forgot where I get this information, but they explain that people may click on the ads after reading the content. So this should be from top to bottom.

i come across a few sites that purposely have their adsense ads in colors that are out of sync with the page's color scheme. i would think that this would attract clicks although it degrades the design/asthetics of the site.

anyway, i think having adsense in the most prominent place in the page attracts clicks - could be at the top, middle, side or bottom... but most likely nearer to the top

Just curious - where did you see that? I've always thought it was the opposite. Ads should be at the top of the page to get better click throughs. On a normal site I think google ads go best right at the top of the content area.
