Once you get filezilla, you need to find out your ftp address (usually ftp.yourdomain.com) , your username (usually the same as what you use to login to 1&1), and your password (usually the same as what you use to login into 1&1). When you connect, you should see your server files on the right side of filezilla. Just upload the files from your computer into the public_html directory.

no i don't but i used to have one not sure what it was called, just used it for sending files back and forth with a mate, but i'll go and get filezilla

nope, no database's thats getting a little too confusing for me, i'm only really new to all this so trying to keep it as simple as i can, the most complex thing i've done on the site is a mapped image and the buy now buttons.
so just need to find out how to upload the site to 1&1 now.

If it just static html, and no databases, you should be fine. No added security needed. But make sure your username and password for your control panel aren't the name of your site .
