    <description> &lt;p&gt;Okay, figured it out. You can do this to a document background but not to the program background. So maximize your image, select the fill tool, and shift-click the background of the image document.  Ta-da!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In Windows XP you can also change the application background through the control panel (Display &amp;gt; Appearance &amp;gt; Advanced &amp;gt; Application Background).&lt;/p&gt;

    <description> &lt;p&gt;That&#039;s simply not possible in a regular PS version.&lt;br /&gt;
Altough there might be a hack available as this has been questioned before.&lt;br /&gt;
I&#039;d say, browse studio.adobe.com and versiontracker.com, these are your best chances!&lt;/p&gt;
