Get rid of all those ads in the footer. Makes your site look so bad and unprofessional. Try just rotating 1 banner in your footer not 12. Also get rid of the ying yang gifs. I don't like the black color scheme at all, makes your site look really depressing (even though I get it's purpose). Your website lacks design and looks way too simple.

I think white text on black background can work but it is harder to pull it off. I'm only going to mention a few breif points.

~~Title:~~ IMHO your title should be either "Interracial Phoenix" (possibly followe by a dash and then a slogan line) or you can use your domain name. But what you've got is not good. First of all, the phrase "Taste The Rainbow" is definitely unprofessional, possibly in poor taste (no pun intended), and furthermore does not contribute anything useful to your site. By this last point I mean that it does not describe your site's content in any way and since page title is important to search engines, you're doing yourself a great disservice to people finding your site. And finally, for gods sake get rid of all the ugly, useless asterisks!

~~Fonts:~~ You've got san-serif fonts throughout most of your site yet right in the middle, where you describe the purpose of your site you go to a serif font. Be consistant.

~~Content:~~ What can I say... not much there. You don't even have a menu. If you're serious about gaining members (and not just serving affiliate ads) then how about a more detailed service philosopy (why and how), success stories, or examples of what you get when you sign up?

~~Pop-Up Ads:~~ When you click on a person you go to a page with some personal info, but it's mostly covered by popup ads asking if I want sex tonight. Well I don't know what kind of people you're really trying to attract but from a webuser standpoint that is annoying that the ad is placed directly over the area somebody is trying to read.

I think you've got a long way to go This site is lacking basic building blocks - logo, navigation, coherence in design, content... everything. Start by looking around at your competitors - and there are lots of them - to see what they are doing. I'm not talking about direct competitors, but dating sites in general.

I don't necessarily think that black backgrounds are always bad. You could make it work. In any case, that is not you biggest problem, by far. You might want to consider looking at template sites or hirigng a designer to help you with this.

One problem I can see is that your "join now" button looks like an ad. It's actually designed somewhat and looks completely ot of place from the rest of the site. Actually, it looks like you stole it from some other site, it's that out of place.

I've joined online dating sites before so I have a bit of experience here. One thing I want to know first up is how it works. Do you buy tokens to send messages or do you pay for a membership that allows you to converse freely? Are there ways to express interest in someone without sending a message? And, most importantly - how much does it cost? All that should be set up from the get-go.

Thanks for the replies. I went and changed site around incorporated your advise and now am ready for round two. Anyone want to critique my site go ahead: interracialphoenix.com. Layout, color scheme, functionality the whole nine yards. I better wear my helmet!

your header gif not loaded, your site theme on top not readable,
yeahhhh... why dont you change your background color ! - black background is not for professional site & visitors cant brows for long it will strain their eyes and they may just skip yor site...
