You've got to get yourself a decent cover! I can recommend someone (inexpensive) if you send me a pm - not sure if recommending someone in the post is advertising so I won't to be on the safe side

That is definately hurting sales - without question.

Forresters research says that a "good" visual representation of a product or service, has been proven to increase sales, up visitor retention and even reduce refund requests. Software developers know that which is why their virtual boxes always look A1. A bad one does the exact opposite.

Your site has an "unfinished" quality about it too. Think what the users will be thinking - if the site doesn't make the grade, what must the product be like?!? Put yourself in the buyers shoes and make sure you're ticking all the boxes when you ask questions like, would I buy this, is it obvious what it is, am I offering something worth while or is it *another* download no one's going to be really interested in.

My 2 cents - hope it helps!

Thanks for the feedback Miku, Brad, and Kaftuz,

I may do a second site with more "upfront" content and track the difference in sales.

Sincerely,

Walt

I have about the same initial view of the site. It resembles the "cookie-cutter sell it quick" sites that are usually known for scamming customers.

I would suggest a re-design, even if it is with a Template. A new design with more features and layouts will hold customers into your site longer. The longer they stay, the more they have time to read what your selling.

This type of "brochure" site rarely captures my interest. I can tell right off that it one big long sales pitch and I quickly click away. Most people on the Web are surfing for some information. Unless there is real content there is no stickyness. What about offereing some overview articles or a newsletter. Get people interested and do a "soft sell" instead of just hitting them with a sales pitch.
