Good point Kyle but if you don't have the time/knowledge to do that Mambo, phpNuke, etc are quick and easy to set-up and use...

I considered building the CMS and I still might at a later stage, but if you need something quick and dirty, these are perfect!

Why not build one yourself, and then customize it so it's easily installed on any website, with a full control panel?

It's a little* more secure than phpnuke, it still can be hacked pretty easily.

Check out the forum on this site opensourcecms.com they will give you a lot of info

I like postnuke, but the popular choice would be phpnuke because there is a lot more support for it. Just depends on what you need

I've used Etomite (back when it was know as Phase.) Pretty straight forward and easy to use.
