I have this situation now, client uses dreamweaver to only edit the "content" that goes in the template.

However, I wish I could disable him from using the font size and color settings!!!! Oh the mess. I know he's trying but... To make matters worse, he uses a laptop with 14" screen at something over 1024x768, so the news headings he sets are huge. Then something newer comes up, so he has to make that even bigger... then something else....

Can contribute lock people so they are forced to just apply CSS only? That would be soooo nice

Hell Yes... your website is gonna get mucked up big time! Might be worth trying to convince your customer to use contribute instead... Produces code more akin to dreamweaver, also you can lock out areas of the page and contribute won't allow them to change it (ie your nav bar). It's only $60 as well, so not too pricey!

Instead of using Frontpage, trying turining your customer onto Contribute 2. Its a macromedia product that allows for the updating of web pages without having to know the slightest bit about html. You can also, designate which parts of the page (certain pictures, specific text) can be edited. I downloaded the trial and tried it out. Pretty nice.

Then there is always php and mysql if all they are doing is editing text.

Yes, Frontpage as the potential to screw up anything and everything.
