    <description> &lt;p&gt;Sounds like your XP installation is corrupt ... Try booting from the install disk and reinstalling over the current install ... If you have important files on it boot to safe mode first to see if you can get in and get those files first ... If there are no important files then I would quick format the drive and do a full reinstall.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Just in case you didn&#039;t know how: To boot to safe mode start pressing the F8 key during the post to get the boot options screen.  then choose the &quot;safe mode with networking support&quot; option ...&lt;/p&gt;
