The header image thing does not fill the whole screen at 1024x768.

If you are designing the page for 800x600, the header will never fill up a browser span of 1024 (unless you use cell backgrounds or css).

This would look *much* better without that patterned background. It's distracting from the nice header graphic and the content. Just make it a subtle pale blue - paler than it is now, to match the graphic header. Or white even. Otherwise this is a nice site.

Once you get more comfortable with your design skills you can add some interest to the navigation menu. It's pretty boring (and small) right now. Learn some CSS and you'll be able to spice that up a lot.

I am getting some horizontal scrolling here. Remember that users might have a different screen resolution from you. If their screen is narrower, the header won't fit and there will be scrolling. Type the following into your browesr address bar to check your site at 800x600:

javascript:resizeTo(800,600);

You'll just have to make that graphic narrower (or, what you could do, is set it as a background of another element then you wouldn't have to worry about scrolling)

ALways use width and height tags on images, the main page is very jumpy on loading with dialup

What about giving those linked images a border of 1, so when you hovered (mouseover) they change to your hover colour, in this case pink

You might want to try validate your source, you have extra and tags in your mid section of your page

I don't think Lucida calligraphy font is a standard one, either way it is hard to read on that background.

I think if your questioni8ng the amount of advertsing on there, then maybe it is to much. IMO webrings and eshops don't go together

I like your background, and banner the layout of the links, and product images look nice as well! The ads are at the bottoms so they aren't to bad.

ooh you're already over my head...but I am nodding and trying to look intelligent.lol This really is all new to me and I am having fun learning. I've just begun learning html and have not looked at css yet but I will. It is very very interesting and I fear I will never rise from this chair as the house falls apart around me I could also just keep the background white I suppose but that is too boring..I will google css and see what I can learn. thanks Suzanne!

It's been a long time since I had to customize cafepress image, but even a border set around them would help integrate them into the site. You may be able to provide, if you have your own site as well, you can link to each image on the cafepress site with custom images/designs.

Using CSS you could contextually alter the borders for those images, add a line, or padding or such.

thanks for taking the time to comment Suzanne and atlien...I appreciate the feedback. yes those boxes bug me too, the only way I can think to get around that is to make one large PSP image of all of the merch but I'd have to think that through because it would alter the whole look big time.
Atlein, do you mean the size/length of the header of do you mean 'fit' as in color? It is such a process..I don't think that site has been the same on any given day..lol, thats the fun of it though.. thanks again for commenting!

The site looks good, but the header doesn't fit, try to make it blend in with the background more.
