Please don't do that!

After waiting 30 seconds on a fast connection, my ears were suddenly blasted off with that very loud soundtrack. Gahhh!

Actually, it serves me right. I usually surf with Flash turned off - mainly to avoid all those "flashy" adverts.

Anyway, I wanted to contribute something positive (believe it or not). I thought that you might get some ideas from this Band Website template. The demo looks good to my untrained eye; the pages are nicely marked up using semantic markup (except for the contact form ); displays without any delay here; and works equally well with Flash turned off.

Worth a look, methinks.

Im struggling with this, the please wait section on the flash preload takes to long, and you bareley notice it on a small monitor. It needs centralising and some highlighting or something. Excellent logo though

Looks great! It has a fun style to it. To be consistent it would be nice if the images on the fans page were interactive as well.

Good job

That Shite Is Great!

First off I reloaded the side one more time just to listen to the start up music on the splash page. I've heard alot of people complain about not wanting to go through splash pages, but I love them. And I especially like the sound of what I heard, as well as the entrance graphic. Don't know if you're familiar with the band Placebo (glam rock) but it's really placeboesque if there is such a thing.

I viewed the page on a 17" monitor in 1280x1024 in NETSCAPE (those of you who have seen my previous thread for my website should see this as a giant leap forward on my part!) and it loaded just fine and everything was clearly visible and easily navigatable. I had no problems finding my way through the site; the first question I had was "Where is this band from?" and the first thing I clicked that I had thought would take me there DID take me to my answer! Navigation is not a problem and is easily seen. Good job! (I even went to 1024x768 res and it still looked just fine.) Mostly the only people who use 800x600 are those who either a)don't know how to get their screen off of "granny mode" or b)are just too damn lazy to take it off the factory setting that should be named "redicously large crap filling the screen and taking up all of the space that could be used for other things" mode.

The color scheme is excellent; you wouldn't have white and blue for such a hardcore sounding band would you? The color should always fit the band, not the demand. From where I'm standing, your choice of colors couldn't have been better. The flash guy up left is cool - I like that little guy! Good selection of pictures and music samples, and a wealth of knowledge about the band itself.

Don't sell yourself short by saying you don't know what you're doing because this is a very good thing. I could see where it could use some improvement, but not improvement on the overall useability of the site OR the content. Maybe when you realease the first album, you could change the design to reflect upon the album and its sound, but other than that, I think you have a very awesome website and a very awesome sound going for you.

Just don't be another Evanescence - I'm from Maumelle, where Amy is from, and I don't think I've ever heard her even mention the place. Don't forget your roots; and always stay true to your music and ambitions. I listened to everybody and kept trying to please everybody all at once, but by doing so lost the very feel I was trying to incorporate.

Take them as mere suggestions; not guidelines. The only ones that I can repeat with good conscious are: get at least another browser to test your website in occassionally (like Netscape, which is amazingly good now when it used to suck) and test it out in at least 2 different screen res's for a good grasp on compatibility issues. And don't worry about AOL (I know it's mean, and if you use AOL no offense, but if somebody wants to use an ISP that is constantly having problems and is nothing more than a waste of time, they deserve what they get. Everyone can flame me for that later) But just keep those in mind and again,

GOOD JOB! A++++++++++++++....+.

Firstly, why the hell do you want so many colons (the ":") in the title? Try getting rid of them all.

The design is OK I guess, quite typical but effective nonetheless - good job there.

If it is absolutly nessessary to have something on the top left corner then why not have something else happen when a user hovers over a link in the nav bar?

The link in the main content area is quite glarey and hard to read. Try using a lighter colour for the main body text. Another colour for the links might also help as well.

Try taking better quality photos. If the images are blurred then it comes across as amaturish and quite unprofessional. Although the photos might be taken by yourselves, it is still essential that good photos are taken and not just any photo taken is thrown up on the website.

Hi, I have had a look at your website and thought too dark.
I did non venture past the front page, the start up page was a bit choppy, the music jumpy also, this was not a good start and put me off straight away.
I would leave the music option off the intro and let visitors make up their own minds if they wish to listen.
