    <description> &lt;p&gt;I like using an SSH server, not FTP. It&#039;s much more flexible than FTP, yet much more secure. Plus, you can login and get a prompt (using PuTTY), which cannot be done with FTP.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Also, opening a file locally, without first downloading a copy of it, is not possible using either WinSCP or any FTP client. However, if you do use SSH, you can edit using pico, vi or several other *nix editors right at the prompt.&lt;/p&gt;
