Apache has a configuration file called httpd.conf . I assume that it is the same name under OSX. All of your configuration is done within that file. Within that folder, they is something called DocumentRoot that is where your webpages would go.

Okay thanks I found it under /Library/WebServer/ like you said but that is where all the apache support files are so can I point it to another folder or should I put that info in a sub folder and build off of that directory?

In OS X it depend how you enabeled it it could be in your home directory in the sites folder or in /Library/WebServer/ since you didn't specify OS X server i guess it's in your home folder
