And I thought Windows was "easy to use". -1 for Microsoft and privacy.

Simple. Clear the recent document list on your start up menu. This will also clear the address bar in IE. Dunno why, I only found out by accident!

Quote: Someone accidentally entered form input stuff into the URL bar and asked how to clear it. So how does one clear stored strings in the address bar (and the cache and history) in IE6/WinXP?

Same thing happened to me a while back, I had to delete cookies, so I was a little upset about that

I'm missing nothing, it seems. IE is indeed as bad as I feared. I had to dig in the registry to find the strings.

For future reference, I found them in HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > TypedURLs.
