You could try system restore although it seems like maybe that it only restores system files. Here is how to use it.

Probably not, haven't had XP that long and have been so busy with this project haven't had a decent look around yet. I have XP pro if it matters.

I had a look, it seems like its turned on, its giving me an option to either create a restore point or restore to an earlier time. The option to allow system restore is unchecked (allows it) so guess that is turned on.

mairving, have you ever used it (system restore), can I go back, say a day (probably two as its about 24hrs ago now), save the info to floppy then come back to now.
I was sent heaps of photos yesterday to edit that I can't save to floppy or zip disk and I dont have CD writer
