Andrew Thomas wrote: Thanks for the replies - the dude holding the fish is me its there mainly because of our marketing of the fishing lakes, as there arent many sites around which have coarse fishing in our area, so thats why most of our customers come.

>>top banner should be centered on top of the content, and there are some spaces in it. other then that, it looks good and professional.

icerider & Jshortest what browser are you using, as i dont get this?

thanks for all your comments

Andrew

IE, I've noticed that if I don't maximize it, it'll be near the center and the gaps disappear, but if mazimize the window, the banner is not centered and the gaps appear.

Firefox is what used to be called Firebird. Netscape* is based on Mozilla so these are more or less the same thing as far as display goes.

The site worked fine for me in Opera 7, which is saying something because usually if there are problems they show up in Opera. Especially if you're using pop-out menus. Good job with that If you write your code to standards** you generally won't have cross-browser problems. IE is the lowest common denominator there.

* IMO, Netscape is pretty much dead. Replace instances of "netscape" with "mozilla"
** Your code doesn't validate. You need a doctype, for starters, then run it through http://validator.w3.org/ for more info.

Firefox is a mozzila based browser... it is basically mozzila's cutting edge stripped down browser... its /meant/ to display everything as it should be... but with IE still being king it has problems with some sites... some JS just don't wanna work

check out mozzila.org or just run a search in google

There really is no difference between layers & tables as far as SEO is concerned!

Get it to work in Netscape and you'll be ok generally.

thanks - what are mozilla based browsers - is there a list? - id like to make the site viewable on as many browsers as possable and always open for suggestions.

thats mainly why i use tables rather than layers as ive heard there are issues with netscape and layers. (although ive heard layers are better for SEO) cant win really

Generally if you make it work in a mozilla based browser it should display well in most others. Don't assume that IE is most widely used as that will change and it is better to iron out the problems now rather than later on. IE is far too forgiving with crappy code!

I always have problems with my sites not being viewed very well in certain browsers. I personally wouldnt worry about it to much and just make sure its ok in IE6, after all thats what most people use.

You've done a really good job with this. I like the bright colour scheme - it really gives the feel of a summer holiday. The photos are fabulous - good job in using those liberally. I agree that something more could be done with the navigation bar. Try changing the mouseover colour to something with more punch like yellow or the light blue in the logo. I dont' mind the pop-outs at all (and I usually do dislike this sort of thing)

Those Eurotents look cool! I notice on this page that the text formatting needs some work. A list would work better for this type of content.

A couple of things about the header graphic (being really nit-picky here). I think it is a little bit on the cluttered side. It might be better to streamline that a bit. It would also be good if the left side didn't end in a straight line like that. Some sort of cutout would be better there I think. I love the little waves along the bottom there. Great idea, and adds continuity with the bottom photo.
