Yes it is a gradient but.. its better if you have it as a background for a table.
That will definitely save some file size 4u (downloads faster)

what I want to do is...

Have a menu that has a title, then below it, it has all the links; I want that to look like it is bellow the menu title

I would assume it's the gradients that will give you this effect.. but than again if you could be a bit more specific,
i'm sure i can walk you through it..
