You are absolutely right, the monocromatic color is a bit bland. Can anyone recommend some colors that go nicely with lavendar. How bout some categories? submissions? How can I increase link popularity?

heh, no. It's just that your current colour scheme is monochromatic. Perhaps if you added another one or two complementing colours, it might change the mood, make it more interesting and all that.

Colour sets are hard to come up with, so if you're the cautious type, it's best to err with a simplistic/mono look like you have now.
