    <description> &lt;p&gt;This really isn&#039;t that bad visually speaking.  You&#039;ve got to work on your proportions a little more but the idea is there.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I second the other reccomendations here about software.  I actually got a copy of PHotoshop Elements free with my scanner so they should be pretty easy to come by.  You could also look for an older version of photoshop.  I believe Elements and LE are pretty much the same as the full version 5.0.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I use the full Photoshop, but did the Elements demo, because I&#039;m always recommending it, and wanted to see what it had.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Almost all of the power of Photoshop. It&#039;s not totally as powerful but it pretty damn close!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The problem with MS Paint is that you really need a graphics app that will properly optimize for the web to keep those files sizes down.&lt;/p&gt;
